Experiences and About Me
I developed a particular style of painting in 2011 which was to paint in a creative and free way. The subject matter is usually flowers and landscapes. I was inspired by artist Emma Rimer, who studied foundation art at Northbrook College. I never miss an opportunity to exhibit my work. It’s great to hear people talk about your work and even sell work. I am also keen to take part in art workshops. I have taken part in two art workshops by artist, John Thompson. I loved these workshops as it involved using fingers to paint with and being expressive with paint to create an amazing piece of work to take home. In 2013 I began volunteering at Fabrica Gallery in Brighton. I volunteered once a week at an exhibition called ‘A Cold Hand On A Cold Day’ by Jordan Baseman. It involved meeting the public and doing questionnaires with them. I also helped out with a smaller exhibition which was a ‘Contemporary Cave Painting’ By Thomas Allen at Fabrica. From February to April 2014 I began an Arts Internship at Oak Grove College which involved observing classes and helping teach art to the children. It is a college for children with disabilities and learning difficulties. I found it very rewarding and I gained experience from it. As part of raising funds for our degree show, our group and the part time group studying BA Fine Art are currently organizing an art auction at St. Pauls Church in Worthing. It has been challenging to organize it but I feel it will be rewarding.
